Where's your British Accent?

I have lived in London for 8 months and no I do not have an accent.  I went back to the States and majority of people kept asking me "Where is your British Accent?".  Umm...really people??  When I have had a few cocktails a little accent will come out!  It's pretty comical.  The British have added some new vocabulary to my everyday conversations.  So if your bored and want to spice up your conversations try these...

Are you Alright? = How are you?

Massive = Huge
Muck Around = Waste Time
Nappy Valley = areas with a lot of young couples with children
Mug = gullible person
Kip = Nap
Lift = Elevator
loo = Bathroom
ring up = to call someone
post = mail

tart = slut
Smart Dress = Business Casual
Fancy Dress = Costume
wonky = faulty
crisps = potato chips
Garden = Backyard
Pram = Baby Stroller

 This year I decided to paint instead of carve.  Here was my inspiration.

Did you carve or decorate your pumpkins this year?

Paint it grey

My parents want to redo their bedroom and my mom is really loving grey and french inspired decorations.  I decided to put together two design boards for her.  If I could redo her bedroom and sitting area this is how I would decorate it.  She wants to keep her current bedroom furniture except I am vetoing the side tables!  Their bedroom furniture is beautiful except they have these two side tables that have made every move with them and they seriously need to go.  They would need a mirror or artwork over the bed- but I am leaving that up to them.   I would paint the walls a soft grey and my mom and I love accent pillows- in the sitting area we would add some with a pop of color.

Thanks Mom

Woke up to a delivery this morning :).  The UPS guy and I are pretty much friends at this point- I usually see him once a week..ha!  My first thought was I haven't ordered anything in a while, but maybe it was an item I ordered that was on back order finally arriving.  I was trying to go through all my recent purchases and I can only imagine the face I was making when he asked me to sign for it.  Deep in thought and slightly confused.  He handed it over and I saw a halloween sticker and new it was from my mom.  If we were in the states this would have been my first thought but living overseas it is not as easy to send us stuff.  I ran upstairs, literally ran since next to the sticker said Halloween candy.  I have the biggest sweet tooth ever!  Not only was it candy but cake mix and brownie mix.  Yum!  Thanks Mom- I will be stuffing my face all weekend long..ha!  Miss you too

BTW- I am pretty sure the Ghost is flipping me off on the card..ha!

Happy Friday!

Mellow Yellow

When Matt and I are done traveling and moving around, I will own a yellow headboard.  One of my favorite things is decorating/interior design.  Unfortunately I haven't be able to do much of it, the last 6 years we have moved 5 times for our careers.  I can't wait to own a home and go crazy with my ideas.  For now I will dream of my yellow headboard.

Lake District

This weekend was filled with hiking, hot chocolate, wine, trying local Ales, a ton of laughs and great memories.  We went with 8 of our friends to the Lake District in England.  It was absolutely beautiful.  The views were breathtaking and Keswick is charming.  I can't wait to go back.

Weekend Getaway

We are headed to the Lake District this weekend.  I am excited to get away from the city and enjoy the  outdoors.  Saturday it's suppose to be rainy but my fingers are crossed it stays away.  I will post pictures when we get back.  Do you have any exciting plans?

Enjoy your weekend :)

Splurge or Steal

I have been wanting to splurge on a few items but my better judgement got the best of me and I found the steals.  Not bad right?!

Run Santa Run?

Every year Matt and I sign up to run a 5K together.  This year is no different - we signed up for the Santa Run in Greenwich Park.  My husband is an avid runner and I think this is his attempt to get me into running.  I should probably preface this by saying I am NOT a Runner.  I would rather do 3 hours of bootcamp than run.  I am not sure why but I hate it.  I'll train for about a month or two, run the race and then go back to NOT running.  This happens every year, just a constant cycle of me hating life for 2 months..ha!  As we were signing up, I was thinking I get to where I can run 3.2 miles under 30 minutes and quit?!!  Why, because I hate running?  It honestly makes no sense- I put in hard work to just let it go and start all over the next year.  So in my efforts to keep this going I have decided to make it public on my blog.  I will put updates on here, maybe some of our workouts and of course pictures.  Any tips or fun races to run in London would be appreciated :)

Wish me luck!

Organize it

If I haven't said it enough, you know by now, I am extremely organized.  Whenever I get back from a trip and start unpacking I always find something I need to organize better.  My hair products, makeup and nail polish could use some help.  Here is a little inspiration.

Next up my jewelry....

Animal Instincts

Bloggers Do It Better challenge this month is Animal Prints.  When it comes to cheetah and zebra print- I go with accessories.  I have scarfs, a clutch, an ipad case, shoes and 2 belts.  It is an easy way for me to add a little extra to my look.  This summer I purchased a cheetah maxi from Armani exchange and I fell in love with it.  And when it comes to fur I go faux! I wish I would have had more time to actually take photos of me in my animal prints but with all the traveling and my camera dying - it wasn't possible.  But I took some pictures of some of my favorite animal print pieces and added an old pic of me in my go to scarf.

 Enjoy and go wild with animal prints :)

I'm Home

After 6 flights, 3 states and 1 country I am finally home.  Sorry the blog post were lacking, I was trying to soak up every second I could get with my family.  It was sad to say goodbye but I will be back for Christmas.

Can you believe it's October?  Crazy..huh?!  It is one of my favorite months, fall is in the air and Halloween is one of the best holidays.  I love a good costume and any excuse to eat large amounts of sugar.  But my favorite is scary movies.  I usually do 31 days of scary movies but this year I will be without the hubs for most of it so decided to for-go it.   I put a list of some of my favs - I had to include some classics.  Check em out for a Spooktacular night :)

1. Dawn of the Dead (1978) or (2004) for more thrills
2. Exorcist (1973)
3. The Strangers
4. Session 9
5. The Changeling (1980)
6. The Ring
7. 'Rec' (2007)
8.  Book of Shadows (Blair Witch 2)
9.  Halloween (1978)
10. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

*Repulsion is suppose to be good.  Haven't seen it but it is on my list to see.

Happy Hump Day!

Good luck sleeping...haha!
