I am totally jet lagged.  I've been up since 4:30 and I'm not going to be very productive today.

This morning I was trying to cure my boredom and cranky self by resorting to pinterest.  I'm currently trying to grow my hair out and was looking for cute ways to style it.  I think pinterest actually made me more cranky because my hair never looks like this....EVER!

Weekend Recap

I woke up this morning with huge puffy bags under my eyes.  My nephew is fun and did I mention he is a cutie but man he wore me out.  I tried to teach him how to layout by the pool but he thought it was more fun to splash me and get my People magazine wet...kids these days.  He woke me up at 7am saying tee tee which means choo choo (adult translation, it's Thomas the Train time).  Not gonna lie that show freaked me out...those trains make some weird faces.  Anyways, I got a little shopping in, tried the amazing Dorito Taco that I have been dreaming about for months and sweated my ass off at some CWS games.  Now I need to finish some laundry and start packing - I leave tomorrow to go back to London.  Not looking forward to a 14 hour travel day.

The good life

I'm leavin' on a jet plane.  Don't know when I'll be back again.  

Actually, I know when I'll be back and it's more like planes, trains and automobiles. 

 I'm heading to Nebraska for two weeks for some sun, family and baseball.  I'm going to take a few days off from blogging -  I'll be back mid week next week.

For the home

Last night after the 8 hundredth time of stubbing my toe on the trash can in our tiny kitchen I started dreaming of the perfect kitchen.  You know, one that I can't touch both walls at the same time and has a normal fridge.  I'm not asking to much here.  But, seriously I can't wait to be able to decorate a house and put our personal touches in it.   If I had my dream kitchen this is how I would decorate it.  I would make sure that Matt and I can both be in it at the same time too.  I'm accident prone and at times I need someone to make sure I take the cardboard out from under the pizza before I cook it.  I'm a real Betty Crocker over here.

 I love rustic wood tables, I would have one side with a bench and lucite chairs on the other.  On the chairs, I would throw a few pillows to add some color.  I would accessorize the table with some white candle holders and have a few small mint julep vases of Peonies (my favorite).  As for dishes, I would bring in more color with these funky DVF plates.  I couldn't pass up this cute whale for your butter and the navy DVF tray for entertaining.  Finally, I would add some personal touches with white picture frames filled with my smiling face...and I guess Matt's too.

Faves of the Week

You know when you have a ton of stuff to do and you decide you're not going to do any of it.  That's me right now and last night.  My procrastination of choice is online shopping and going overboard in photoshop- see below.  I found few favorites this week.  Check em out!

Last year...

We were moving into our flat.  That day was filled with laughs, tears and few %*@# what did we do?!  To think this is what our place looked like last year.  I am still saying %*@# how did this all fit in here?!  Yes I like to curse, especially in stressful situations ;)

Looks like the kitchen is coming along pretty good.  So we thought!  Later that night we found out the dishes were bigger than the cabinets.  Try and guess which cabinet is the fridge.

To see what it looks like now and read what we learned click here.  We did end up giving a lot of things away that day.  I would say most of this furniture will be staying here when we move back to the States because I am not sure they will be able to get it out.

Mirror Mirror on the wall...

which one should I buy?  I have been looking for a white mirror for an office, I don't have yet,  to put behind my desk.  I am in love with white!  White can make places look bigger and brighter especially in London since places are much smaller and well Mr. Sun doesn't come out that often.  I love all 3 but price wise I think West Elms is the best buy.

Flashy Lights

I really want to replace the lighting in our Flat.  The Chandelier we have in the living room and entry is horrible.  We are renting and my husbands doesn't want to change it.  I am sure I can talk him into :)  I mean seriously look how cute these chandeliers I found at Urban Outfitters are.

Home

Eight hours later two tired and cranky Americans made it to London.  Our car service was late picking us up and drove completely out of the way making me even more cranky.   We are finally home and I am forcing myself to stay up till at least 7.  I am sure I will be up at 3am...the joys of jet lag.  Few instagram picks from the plane ride...
