Last night for Matt's b-day we went to Automat to enjoy some U.S.D.A Nebraska corn fed beef and it was everything we wanted. A taste of home, great atmosphere and awesome service. Matt is an old soul at heart and it's one of the qualities I love about him. Last night was all about him and he enjoyed a bourbon with one ice cube, a little Frank Sinatra and was all smiles with his Nebraska hamburger. All he was missing was a cigar.
For his birthday I bought him a nice bottle of one his favorite Scotch Whisky since he is a Scotch Man. He is very particular how he drinks it and thought I would share Matt's "Proper" way to taste it.

- Add a small amount of lukewarm water to release the flavor of the whisky.
- Then cover your glass with the palm of your hand and firmly shake
- Place your nose deep into the glass and take 2 sharp sniffs
- Take a sip from the glass and swirl it around your mouth before swallowing it
- Enjoy the flavors!
As I promised on facebook here is the pie I made him. Its a Reese's Peanut Butter and Hershey Chocolate Pie. I could not find graham cracker crust or graham crackers so I improvised and made my own from Golden Oreo's. It taste really good! Definitely recommend it. The decorating was lacking on it because it was overflowing.
